just waiting....

The three months of holidays I've been just waiting to be over is painfully long. 

Just one thing I'll have to confess (not like anyone's gonna find out anytime soon, unless I tell them personally).  There was a guy I had a crush on for over a year, and although I never really talked to him before, I always wondered what made me like him.
Maybe I shouldn't of, since now I have a proper bf who is really kinda like my perfect guy, but I've looked up my past crush's blogs, sites, etc.  Maybe I knew it before, but now I realise it more now.  He was a sensitive, emotional guy who just wants to feel....well, wanted.  And that's what I wanted as well.  And simply reading this in what he writes, and pictures he puts up, anyone would understand this and the type of person he's like.
Everyone wants to feel like they're wanted.  Maybe more so for me, just coz I'm a selfish, attention seeking person and I hope that doesn't drive my bf away. 

Now to wait for another... one week and 3 days before I'll be back at uni - what I've been waiting for all holidays.  Hopefully never again.

For the first time in a long time, I can't stop smiling, both inside and out.
There's no particular reason for it either.
I'd usually be freaking out for my exam tomorrow, and the day after, and in a weeks time, but I haven't given into the stress.
I haven't talked much to friends I need to make up with.
I haven't completely forgotten about 'him' but that doesn't hurt me much anymore.

Maybe it was just that one conversation, with a person not too close to me, yet doesn't know me as a stranger.
Our talks on about anything random that first comes to our mind, ceasing the awkward silences.
Even if it was just a little, I felt that we understood each other - and that meant a lot to me.
That something so little, so undetectable, makes me feel normal.
Hence I smile.

Summary:  This guest on this SDK is Oda Yuji - a famous Japanese actor who's played in many dramas.  He sounded like he had a tough time before he made it big, talking about living on little money and what he did to survive.  He's a sempai of KK, so it's a change seeing them using keigo (respectful language) compared to some other SDKs I've been watching - but that's just me probably.  So hope you guys enjoyed it as much as we do.

Ayaka on SDK

It's probably a holiday thing.  I think I'll get heaps of stuff done, but I don't - or maybe it's just laziness.  My holidays are almost over but I'm very much looking forward to uni.  I even booked my plane ticket for uni well in advance and spent hours fussing over the best times for my timetable this semester.  But still, time's going fast - really fast.

1st Year Uni - done

I PASSED ACCOUNTING!!!!
After all the worrying about failing, even lugging back the fat textbooks and notes, and the waiting, that's all I cared about.  And also, the management course - passed, but not as well as I thought I would've. 
So take that accouting.  I'll never have to look at you AGAIN! 

And I love my Jap courses ♥  Unfortunately I'm most possibly halfway through the major.  Half of it's done for my 4.5 year plan... it doesn't balance out at all, and it's not fair ><  

I thought typing this out would mark a happy occassion, but now it's made me kinda angry.  Probably the reason why I don't keep diaries, don't blog often, and don't like looking back into the past *sigh*

Well this show has been around for a while but you came on LOVE LOVE Aishiteru before. Now you have short hair for the drama?

ODA: Yeah. 

KOICHI: For your character.

ODA: Yes.

KOICHI: It’s great how various hairstyles suit you.

TSUYOSHI: I think so too.

KOICHI: Whatever it is, it suits you.

ODA: You too.

KOICHI: I’d have short hair if the set requires it!

For example, if my character was a soldier, I’d shave my hair!

KOICHI: Domoto One Question One Answer.

ANNOUNCER: These are questions for Oda Yuji.

Please tell us your real name, age and where you’re from.

ODA: My real name is Oda Yuji, I’m 40 and I’m from the Kanagawa Prefecture.

Someone: So young.

ANNOUNCER: What did you often play with during your childhood?

ODA: My childhood? I play with anything!! In the neighbourhood, if there was a house under construction that’d be a playground!!

KOICHI: You’re not supposed to enter, right?

WRITING: Don’t copy this good boys and girls!!

ODA: It was like a big jungle gym to me!!

KOICHI: Ah, as a child you wouldn’t know, right?

ODA: Yeah.

ANNOUNCER: What did you want to become as a child?

ODA: A fisherman, sushi maker and an astronaut.

KOICHI: You have a wide range!!

ODA: That’s right. 

TSUYOSHI: An astronaut?

ODA: Children seem to like them, don’t they?

ANNOUNCER: What’s a legendary story that makes you think “That was naughty of me”?

ODA: I can’t say that!!

ANNOUNCER: When was your turning point in life and what was it?

ODA: Turning point? I kinda have one. I was always part of club activities then I broke my leg so I couldn’t play sports at all... Then I started a band which is why I’m now here!!

ANNOUNCER: What started off your debut?

ODA: I got through an audition for the movie “Shounan Bakusouzoku”!! And at the time I debuted at the same time with the song “BOOM BOOM BOOM”! Yeah, it’s embarrassing.

ANNOUNCER: What’s an episode you suffered through tough times?

ODA: It might not suffering through tough times but because I had no money I didn’t have curtains in my room... I only had a futon from home and living on what I picked up and received.

KOICHI: What you picked up?

ODA: I picked a TV. It said it was a colour television but it had 3 colours. There was tape on it so those only appeared, but I used it. I lived without using much money.

ANNOUNCER: If you were to do a remake of “Odoru Daisousasen overseas, who do you want to act as “Aoshima”?

ODA: I’ll act as Aoshima!!

TSUYOSHI: I think that’d be right.

ODA: Someone with blue eyes acting as Aoshima would be weird, wouldn’t it?

[Ao-shima literally means Blue Island]

KOICHI: Well everything’s staked on the character.

ODA: I have an attachment to it!! So I can’t really imagine anyone else being that character.

ANNOUNCER: You say you have many hobbies – recently, what have you been obsessed with?

ODA: A while ago, before I was in “Taiyou to Umi no Kyoushitsu” I was darker. Before that I went to Hawaii. As scorching as it was I went surfing... I thought surfing’s fun so I might become obsessed with it...

ANNOUNCER: If you had a holiday, what would you most want to do?

ODA: I’d like to play! But firstly I’d like to sleep... I’d want to sleep but I’d like to go somewhere. I’m always in the city around studios so I’d like to go a place with fresh air!!

ANNOUNCER: What’s a strange habit of yours which you first realised when someone pointed it out to you?

ODA: A strange habit? When I’m shy I touch my eyebrows but I don’t notice it myself.

ANNOUNCER: If the earth was to be destroyed tomorrow, what would you?

ODA: The earth would disappear? I’d flee to outer space with my lover!!

KyokOda: Ah, how cool.

KOICHI: Me too! Me too!!

TSUYOSHI: You just copied that?! You 100% copied that.

KOICHI: Have your own opinions with this.

TSUYOSHI: You’d probably go for a drive.

KOICHI: I also would do that!! I would too!!

ANNOUNCER: Honestly, who’s your rival?

ODA: My rival myself, wanting to become “nothing”.

There was a cool part to me but my main point is “there’s a lazy me”.

There’s a part me who doesn’t like doing anything...

So that comes to mind.

KOICHI: I totally understand!!

What’s wrong with that?

TSUYOSHI: They still had some doubt in their eyes...

KOICHI: There’s a part of yourself who wants to be lazy but I try not to give in.

ODA: I’m the type who can laze around easily, the type who’s fine with lazing around for years.

KOICHI: I totally understand.

ODA: Perhaps I won’t ever return...

ANNOUNCER: When do you think, “I’ve really grown older...”?

ODA: When I see myself zoomed up on a high vision television.

I’m with students in scenes.

(cut box ~ scene...whichever...)

KOICHI: Ah, with your drama?

ODA: That’s right. Zooming up on me after the students...I don’t really want to see that.

KOICHI: No, it’s okay.

ODA: You don’t have to zoom up!!

KOICHI: You’re a teacher after all. On the contrary if you were the same that wouldn’t work, right?

ODA: Well, yeah. I wanted to grow old so it doesn’t bother me...

KOICHI: You, you wanted to?

ODA: I want to look old as I grow old... I don’t want to look young.

ANNOUNCER: What is your weakness?

ODA: High places.

TSUYOSHI: That’s quite unexpected.

ODA: This has happened twice in the drama*. On tomorrow’s broadcast, I’ll go on top of a building. It was 12 floors high but I couldn’t stand it. From that day I couldn’t sleep for two nights!!

I’m fine with climbing up into a helicopter, and that sort!!

KOICHI: That’s scary. I don’t get that at all!!

ODA: I’m fine if it’s a scene where I face forward!! I’ll do this, so here I go up. Positive ones are fine but not something like stopping someone from committing suicide. Trying to film the negative scenes and go to high places, I can’t stand it.

Do you hate that?

TSUYOSHI: I’m afraid of high places.

ODA: Ah, same here.

TSUYOSHI: When I’m at a high place my body goes forward itself!!

ODA: Ah, yeah. It’s like being sucked in. 

TSUYOSHI: Even at concerts, I try to stand firm a lot all the time.

ODA: I got injured once*

TSUYOSHI: My body goes like this.

ODA: I understand.

TSUYOSHI: I so try standing firm like this. When I’m at high places, I don’t sing much, don’t I?

ODA: You look like you’d sing at really high places?

TSUYOSHI: Yeah. When I come down I’m like --

Where do you first look when you see a lady?

ODA: Eyes. 

ANNOUNCER: What action of a lady would make you nervous without thinking?

Somehow I get nervous when she has a shy expression.

Tom: Do it!! Be awkward!!

KOICHI: I don’t really have a awkward expression.

Tom: Say something that might make her awkward!!

KOICHI: Um, if there was a bug here, what’d you do?

TSUYOSHI: That’s not quite it!!

KOICHI: If there was a bug, what’d you do?

KyokOda: Kill it!! What’s with that...

KOICHI: See, she was awkward!!

Tom: Ah now? So it’s like that?

KyokOda: I took a bit of a detour!!

KOICHI: How’s it like being a teacher?

ODA: It’s a bit awkward!!

KOICHI: Ah, really?

ODA: I don’t want to show myself to those who knew me from school!!

KOICHI: Really?

ODA: Yeah. Because you were mischievous in the past?

ODA: If I had to say so...

KOICHI: We’ve ask many things so far. 

You debuted with the movie “Shounan Bakusouzoku”!! We have a video prepared. 

 

ODA: They’re filming at the same hill now!!

TSUYOSHI: It’s a famous hill. 

ODA: Yeah. They’re filming there even now.

KOICHI: You’re this person?

ODA: This is embarrassing, but whatever. That’s me. Ah, not cool.

TSUYOSHI: Awesome.

Oda acting: Shounan Bakusouzoku Captain. It’s Ishikawa Akira!! Show yourself!! I was careless and couldn’t fight you!!

Oda before “show yourself”: I was bad at this.

 

ODA: Can that be refilmed?

TSUYOSHI: No, no, no.

KOICHI: That was when you were 18 or 19 years old at the time.

ODA: Right.

KOICHI: As you describe earlier, was that when you didn’t have much money?

ODA: Yeah. 

KOICHI: You didn’t have air con...

ODA: I didn’t have anything!!

Tom: It’s great to say there’s nothing in your own room.

ODA: Well my room itself was crammed so it didn’t matter if there wasn’t anything.

Tom: It must be inconvenient without curtains?

ODA: Those wire hangers you receive from laundry service... I randomly put shirts on them and put the hangers in the holes for the curtains.  So I used that instead of curtains.

KOICHI: Amazing. Going through various lifestyles, you’ve come to learn different things.

Tom: But curtains morning must’ve been early?

ODA: It was bright!! If I came home late I couldn’t sleep until day. The sunlight would come in, it would wake me up. I’d be like “let me sleep”.    I also had posters at the back.

Tom: On the window.

ODA: Put posters up and make it darker.

KOICHI: Ah, really? Did you have a bath in your house?

ODA: Um, I once did but it was square so the size wasn’t enough to fit in. The shower also drizzled out a single stream of water. It wasn’t really a shower, it pressure was really low. I don’t know how many minutes it took me.

It was hopeless. I thought I couldn’t use it.

KOICHI: An unwilling shower really makes me mad.

ODA: That’s true. At home with my parents it comes out really fast, it hurts. 

KOICHI: Since living by yourself...

ODA: It’s now this.

KOICHI: I hate that. It irritates me.

ODA: I’d go “how annoying”.   What’s more, my hair was longer.

TSUYOSHI: After a concert I’d go for a shower immediately. Depending on the venue, I’d come out like an idiot.

KOICHI: Sometimes it hurts.

TSUYOSHI: Yeah. I think “The water coming out well” at first and it feels okay, then I’d put it in this thing. And then...

It’d go “Bam!” Yeah, yeah...

KOICHI: That happens!

TSUYOSHI: Then I’d fix it. Then over here I placed my clothes on the tiles because there’s a curtain. Right here, with my shoes. So it’d put it back and try again. I shampoo my hair and then it goes again... Smash!

KOICHI: That happens!

TSUYOSHI: When it’s turned all the way, it ends up like this...

KOICHI: There were times when you were extremely mad!!

 ODA: Shall I teach you something for that?

TSUYOSHI: Is there a trick to it?

ODA: There is. You should twist the bottom of the hose.

Doing that, it’ll be fine.

TSUYOSHI: Really?

ODA: That’s definitely a good part. Between the hose and the showerhead, if you twist it’ll stay there.

TSUYOSHI: I wish I met Oda Yuji earlier. 

KOICHI: That’s true. I was at loss over it many times. 

Tom: Since you’re here, there’s something I just have to ask.

ODA: Yes?

Tom: Do you like athletics?

ODA: I did love sports but I did a lot of ball games so non-believers didn’t know why it’s fun.

Tom: So you don’t like that much now?

ODA: I had an idea long ago. For those who want to be interesting, older people are definitely interesting!!

Tom: I love athletics. When other people are watching, they get angry, but when they hear what you’re saying they’re like “That’s right! Why does that guy know it? Exactly! Go, Go!”

ODA: The staff were passionate. They a lot of them. 

KOICHI: You do look like you’re a passionate person but of Oda Yuji says someone’s passionate, they must be really passionate.

ODA: No, no... Those people are interesting when they enthusiastically give me explanations. So then I think I have to say it.

Tom: But you’re ignited a new light to athletics. That’s why I thought you’re amazing. I’m sorry.

ODA: Ah, I’m sorry...

KOICHI: Well there’s still a lot I want to ask you, like your hobbies.

KOICHI: Apparently you were obsessed with stag beetles.

ODA: When you’re a child, you’d catch them. Now that I’ve grown up, I can raise them properly.

KOICHI: Yeah.

ODA: As a prank, when I went to a friend’s place stag beetles will come flying to the entrance. So we talked about how we can catch them here. Then when we went to a practice ground for golf, somewhere close by... you can catch them. Isn’t it fascinating?

KOICHI: Catching stag beetles?

ODA: It was fun to catch stag beetles and rhinoceros beetles like I did as a child... I was obsessed in an instant.

KOICHI: So has happened recently?

ODA: No, a few years ago. I don’t do that anymore.

KOICHI: Since you’re grown up...

ODA: Since I’ve grown up...

TSUYOSHI: Eeh~. Is that so?

Tom: Since you’ve passed 30?

ODA: Since I’ve passed 35.

TSUYOSHI: Isn’t that great?

KOICHI: Raising them, as they grow would be...

ODA: Was amazing. It was like laboratory.

KOICHI: Laboratory?

ODA: With the bottles all lined up. Each one separated into each area, not whatever brand.

KOICHI: You had that many?

ODA: There were one I went to catch myself, like the ones in the wild, and there were the good breeds. The place for those good breeds were in Okayama, and I went to the champion’s place and said, “Excuse me, can you show me it?” It took me 6 hours to get there by car!!

KOICHI: Really?

ODA: I’d like to see it, which is Japan’s number one.

 TSUYOSHI: You’re enthusiastic.

KOICHI: Ah, it’s a stag beetle...

ODA: Beautifully formed contest for Japan’s number one.

The producer also had this image for this. I didn’t think I’d sing it for this drama. But there was a lot of passion for it, so I said I’ll do my best.

Because I'm completely diverting from study, AND MY LAPTOP LIVES, may as well post this up on my LJ.  I just discovered that I tried to make an LJ 2 years ago, under a different username.  Since then, not one post has been made><. *ponders on the thought of just destroying it anyway*

Oh ~ and may as well do a summary here:
I'm quite sure this was the SDK episode which got the highest ratings in 2008 (or just really good ratings).  If you haven't seen it, I highly recommend it.  It helps me cheer up after a rough day>< Oh and about the currency note somewhere ~ the translation was done before the recent chaotic economy crisis, so that might be a bit off... But don't let reality stop you from enjoying SDKs.

My laptop died!! I hope the memory hasn't been erased, but more importantly, I hope it can be fixed - soon!  My withdrawal symptoms are beyond bad ~ it's really severe.  And while I can use this random college lab (I found its whereabouts after THIS WHOLE YEAR) using my laptop in my little room is always something I've been used to ~ well, for the last 3 or 4 years.

*cries*

There's a cross dress party going on right now.  The 2 guys that borrowed my skirts...look better it in than I do >< But after seeing that, and what they're doing...I don't think I can wear them anymore.  Same goes with the hello kitty shirt one guy borrowed and stuffed it with socks or something, so much that if I wear it, um, the top part *cough* will be VERY BAGGY.  Figures why I'm here

My summer...counting down

This is getting desperate of me...I can't wait until my holidays><  No more accounting (if i don't fail), no more management group assignment, no more Japanese with the lecturer who hates me (but that's mutual)
It's 2 more months....2 MONTHS!  *gets hyped*  I want it to end, so I can go home and DOWNLOAD like crazy.  Also translate.  Yes translate.  Translate probably mainly Shin Domoto Kyoudai episodes.  I just watched FF's subbed SDK with Mizukawa Asami, and it's become clear to me that I need to work on translations being simplier. They just ended up being LONG.  (sorry viewers and subbers><)
Also, I wanna watch DAIGO on Shimuraken Doubutsuen.  DAIGO and Aiba...that'd be ♥ -for me.  *considers translating it - but FF can't put subs on it*
And the doom of due assignments and exams are closing in on me.  Accounting is my 天敵.  I can say worse things for it, but I'll do that once I'm sure I'm done with it. 
So what to do now?
*scrunches up into a little ball and gets confused*

I've just been looking on my LJ - it's been 3 weeks since I last updated it (tsk to myself).
I also changed the lj format - it's way better than before (should've done that earlier)
I was on hiatus in order to try do more uni work for about 2 weeks and last weekend I just finished my last major uni midsem exam.  So now I'm more free to translate and do whatever I want to.  I've kinda got a rotation for futari on track and in place.  We've all got a recent SDK we're all working on, and I've just finished DAIGO.  All to do now is wait for the editing for it - as well as Morisanchuu. 
Oh yeah, there's also 33pun Tantei - halfway through my part for episode 4. 

The list of SDKs here was made to keep track of what's already subbed.  I'm thinking of taking requests (except on that list, obviously) or translating whatever I reckon should be translated - now i'm a bit busy, but on holidays, I think I'll get more done.  The latest SDKs are gonna be subbed, so requests for that won't count. 

Here's what I'd really like to translate and what I may as well do in future:

Once I saw this episode, I really wanted to translate it, but at the time, I didn't have much knowledge or help...
I honestly have a translation for Nakashima Mika on Shin Domoto Kyoudai, but it's currently being checked (by my senpai, lol) Just received an awesome edited version.

The reason behind my Saturday being ALL taken up was some campus event where I ended up making over 100 balloon animals.  I got mixed feelings about people receiving them and being happy and me getting just annoyed with the balloons - honestly, we weren't made to make over 100 balloon animals within 6 hours.  I just RAN and HID away from everyone with a friend after working way more than I was scheduel.  Hence the delay on my SDK tranlsation.
The next SDK I think I'll translate is Tackey and Tsubasa's second appearance on SDK.  There's no Best Hit Takami section on it (YAY)  I honestly despise that one and a half minutes I attempted to translate on this one.  It contributed to my delay and the announcer uses complicated sentences leaving me one long blur of Japanese I can't register in my mind (throws deadly balloon animal at it)  I'm gonna try avoiding episodes with it in future (sorry for not translating chucks of it fenlings)

Yesterday, I just found that there's a subbed version out there in cyberspace for Tackey and Tsubasa's appearance on SDK....so I don't know if I should finish subbing it (but I've done a bit, and it hilarious)
So throw in an opinion if you reckon i should/shouldn't do it.  I'll ask some people in my subbing group too

Anyway, I'll post it here once its been edited... Thanks heaps to fenlings, seriously, I'd make another 100 balloon animals just for you even though it was annoying making them last Saturday.

 I'm currently just avoiding my uni work and lazing on the internet.  I really should do the questions for tomorrow, but I keep getting distracted.
There's heaps of thing I want to do, in uni and out.  I think I want to do some translating/interpreting courses for japanese once I've graduated, but that seems like a distant dream (so many years away, even if I capable of doing it). 
I also want to sub a lot of things, and I have been subbing Shin Domoto Kyoudai, kinda on a weekly basis.  

Anyway, I'm just looking through my raws of Shin Domoto Kyoudai, and this is gonna be my little of list of what I think I'd like to translate in the future (by guest/date y.m.d)

Hmm, seems like a bit.  There's also Hamasaki Ayumi in 07/03/04 - that's an awesome episode and I don't think it's been subbed yet.  The Koda Kumi one kinda make my head hurt because she talks heaps fast...I might translate it.  Looking at this....it's really only the beginning of what I want to translate! *sighs*  (dou shiyo kana.  "atashi tte chippoku na nigen da na" - SDK quote :P)
